18TH C. FRENCH LOUIS XV PERIOD BRONZE AND 'CRISTAL DE ROCHE' 9 LIGHT CHANDELIER ~1750

A rare Louis XV period gilded bronze and complete in pure Rock crystal / 'Cristal de Roche' nine light 'Cage' chandelier.

Mid 18th. Century ~1750.  An open cage frame issuing nine S-scrolled arms with floral shaped drip-pans mainly hang with large pear shaped pendants in rock crystal, some of them faceted. On the cage frame are placed three ornaments , 'Vase d'enfilade'.

In the centre is placed a little stem with a tier of arms, called the 'Pavilion' with pendants and a vase d'enfilade, the Pyramid. The upper section contains some more large faceted rock crystal stem elements supporting the Crown or 'Couronne' which consists of 9 individual attached branches on which are hung more pear shaped pendants.

As finial, 'Bas de Lustre' a big massive rock crystal ball.
